Sludge formation and decontamination effect of stable surface flow wetland systems

  • Influencing factors,including temperatures, plants and wetland flow states,of the formation and composition of sludge in the stable surface flow wetland were investigated. The decontamination effect during the formation of sludge was also discussed. The results showed that VSS was greatly influenced by temperature, plants had no significant effect on the formation of sludge but could change the composition of sludge, while the flow state had effects both on the formation and composition of sludge, the sludge contents of stable surface flow wetlands were 0.4~0.6 g/L. The overall effect of the pushing baffle wetland (pool 5) which was planted a windmill grass, was relatively better. The effluent quality of the stable surface flow wetlands satisfied secondary emission standard, the removal effect of total nitrogen and ammonia increased after the formation of sludge.
