  • In order to reuse the spent lye came from the process of mercerized denim,the ozone, hydrogen peroxide and manganese dioxide as decolourants of purifying mercerizing lye were researched in this experiment.The experimental results showed that the three kinds of decolorants had effect, but ozone was the best. Therefore the experiment focused on the arts and conditions of depurating the spent lye by ozone. It was turned out that decoloration rate was upto 99.3% when the spent lye treated with ozone under the conditions that the lye concentration was 80 g/L, the quantity of air flow was 0.25 m3/h and the reaction time was 4 h. It is demonstrated that the spent lye can be recycled into the process of mercerized denim after purification by ozone.
