Abstract: Dried sludge sampled from Guangzhou economic developing area was incinerated in the tube oven with temperature control. The micro-morphology, elements distribution, mineral composition, as well as the total quantity and the chemical forms of the heavy metals(HMs) were investigated. The result showed that sludge was sintered at 900℃ and the surface of incinerated residues compacted at 1 100℃. Quite stable matters like NaAlSiO4 were detected by XRD at relative higher temperatures. The total quantity and chemical forms of different HMs distributed in the residues of the sludge were various at different incineration temperatures. The ratio of the residual state of HMs increased as the temperature increased and the adverse effect caused by the incineration of the sludge would be alleviated.
