Abstract: In this study, ion flotation method was used to dispose the electroplating wastewater. The effects of pH value, the ratio of CA∶CMe,ion strength, flotation time, volume of aeration on the treatment of the electroplating wastewater were studied. Experimental results showed that the decreasing order to separate the ions was Cd2+>Zn2+>Fe2+>Cu2+>Ni2+. The preferential segregation for the cadmium, zinc, copper, nickel was that the ratio of CA∶CMe was 2.5~3.1, pH value was 8.5~9, and the ion strength was less than 0.0001 mol/L. In this case, the residual concentrations of the Cd2+, Zn2+, Fe2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ were 0.05, 0.20, 0.22,0.28 and 0.33 mg/L, respectively. After electroplating wastewater were disposed, the pollutant concentration complied with the discharge standard. The concentrations of the chromium, copper and nickel in the disposal froth product were 3.2%,9.3%,18.1% and 13.2%, respectively, which showed that there was a great reclamation value.
