  • The strain Z5 was screened from the environment directly polluted by PVA. According to the capacity of degrading polyvinyl alcohol, the growth process and the degradation process of PVA in the form of experiments were discussed. The results showed that 79.24% of PVA could be completely degraded within 48 h cultivation. Furthermore, the characteristics of degradation were also discussed. The results showed that the optimal culture temperature, initial pH, and the liquid volume are 30℃, 6.2 and 30 mL,respectively; the concentration of beef extract, peptone, NaCl and PVA are 0.05g/L, 0.1g/L, 2 g/L and 2 g/L,respectively.
