  • The aerated filter with porous ironrich media has a good phosphorus removal performance. Mechanism of phosphorus removal with porous ironrich media was discussed on theoretical analysis and verified with experiments on iron bacteria determination,scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectrum analysis. The results showed that phosphorus removal with porous ironrich was a chemical precipitation. There was biological oxidation of iron bacteria in the valent state transformation of iron. Basic iron phosphate was the primary constituent of precipitate.
