Abstract: According to the characteristics of landfill leachate which is hard to be biologically degraded after sludge biological reactor (SBR) treatment, a combination process of flocculation-Fenton-biological aerated filter (BAF) was used. Flocculation was used to remove suspend solid and reduce the treatment cost of Fenton, then the Fenton reagent was used to reduce COD and increase the biodegrade ability of the landfill leachate. Finally some organic matter was removed by the BAF. The result of the experiment showed that, when the effluent COD of SBR was about 600~800 mg/L, the COD was reduced to less than 80 mg/L by using the combination process, the treatment cost was only 2.6 yuan/t .
