  • To investigate the effect of temperature on partial nitrification and nitrous oxide emission in the process, batch experiments at different temperatures( 15℃,25℃,35℃)were conducted. The results indicated that temperature has important effect on partial nitrification and nitrous oxide emission in the process. In the range of 15 to 35℃, ammoxidation percentage, nitrite accumulation rate and the emission of nitrous oxide rose with the temperature going up. 35℃ is the appropriate temperature for partial nitrification, the reason is that the average ammoxidation percentage is 50.9%, the nitrite accumulation rate is 55.6% and the ratio of NO2--N to NH4+-N is 1.1 at this temperature. The ammoxidation percentage and the ratio of NO2--N to NH4+-N at 35℃ were appropriate, so the partial nitrification can supply proper inflow to anaerobic ammonium oxidation. The average emission of N2O is higher which is 1.494 μg/g MLSS.
