Abstract: This paper presents the wind-tunnel experimental result of dense gas dispersion in plateau cities. The result shows that the concentration of dense gas is higher near the ground than the other heights, and the change is not linear with the increasing of wind speed, and the change of concentration increases first then decreases. Thus, the concentration of dense gas reaches a maximum under a value of wind speed, which is dangerous wind speed. The value of dangerous wind speed which is calculated by the way of curve fitting is similar to the result which is surveyed by wind tunnel experiment. In addition, the value of viscous coefficient also reaches maximum under the dangerous wind speed, and it blocks the dispersion of dense gas with the increase of viscous coefficient.
