High-efficient aerobic composting process by means of a new controllable composting reactor system

  • The efficiency of the rapid aerobic composting via a self-designed controllable composting reactor was studied. The results showed that the novel reactor systems was highly controllable. When the temperature of in-materials was controlled at about 40℃ and the water contained was adjusted to about 50%, the temperature of composting materials could reach above 55℃ rapidly in 3 days and last for 5 days at least. Moreover, other indices, such as the percentage of water, pH, conductivity, germination index (GI) and volatile solid (VS) had regular relationship with composting process to be the evaluating indices of the maturation of MSS. The reactor could reduce the cycle of composting in 13 days with a high maturation.
