Abstract: Ultrasonic (US) and ozone (O3) combined process was used in this study to degrade dimethoate pesticide wastewater. The effects of pH value, O3 flow, reaction time and initial concentration on the treatment efficiency were investigated. The results showed that the treatment efficiency of US (frequency conversion, 40 W)/O3combined process was higher than single US or O3, and they had obvious synergistic effect. Simulated dimethoate pesticide wastewater was studied first to determine process parameters, then treatment effect of real wastewater was studied and the process parameters were optimized. The best conditions were water yield 5 L, pH 3, O3 flow 5.20 mg/L, reaction time 150 min, initial COD 4 000 mg/L,as the consequences, the COD removal rate was 29.06%, B/C rate increased from 0.20 to 0.35. The results showed that pesticide wastewater could be degraded effectively with lower energy consumption and shorter reaction time, and then it was beneficial to the subsequent aerobic biochemical treatment process.
