Abstract: Based on the conventional A2/O process, the reversed A2/O process for step feed was put forward that an anaerobic tank was put before anoxic tank. The effect of step feed on nitrogen and phosphorus removal by reversed A2/O process was investigated by adjusting the proportion of α (the inflow of sewage into the anaerobic stage) to β (the inflow of sewage into the anoxic stage). It was found that the optimal efficiency was up to 74.3% and 71.2%, respectively when the ratio of α to β was 7 to 3.
