Abstract: The effects of common oilfield chemicals in produced crud oil in Jianghan Oilfield on the coagulation of oily wastewater were investigated by means of water quality analyses and coagulation tests. The relationships between the coagulants, common oilfield chemicals and turbidities and the percentage removal of oil contents were discussed. The interaction mechanisms of the effects of common oilfield chemicals on oily wastewater treatment were preliminary analysed. It demonstrates that the coagulations of drilling water, fracturing water, acidizing liquid and perforation liquid are influenced mainly by tannin, SMP and K-PAM, guar gum and potassium dichromate, acetic acid and citric acid, and hydrochloride, respectively. This work is valuable for eliminating the deteriorative impacts of common oilfield chemicals on oil production, enhancing oil recovery and preventing environmental pollutions.
