  • Comparison research of three plants plants artificial floating island types to treat sewage and the dynamic purification results was carried out. Result shows that the average removal rates of total nitrogen (TN)by Juncus effusus, Acorus calamu,Canna indica, were 48.4%,53.7% and 59.3%, respectively; the average removal rates of total phosphorus (TP)were 59.3%,65% and 69.3%, respectively;and the average removal rates of COD were 41.5%,40.5% and 40.9%, respectively. Obviously, Canna indica is most effective on the removal of TN and TP. The experimental results prove that sewage treatment by the canna artificial floating island has broad application prospects.
