Abstract: In order to solve the dominant bacteria engineering applications, some of immobilized products prepared using different immobilization processes, microbial carriers and immobilization structures were studied to investigate degradation characteristics of coking wastewater. The new type of immobilization ball material was prepared by mixing bacteria adsorbed into active carbon powder, polyvinyl alcohol and alginate. Three different shapes of immobilization composite fillers were prepared using active carbon fiber felt adsorbed with bacteria and embedded by polyvinyl alcohol and alginate, with elastic plastic filler. The four different immobilization products were used to investigate treatment efficiency of coking wastewater in a parallel experiment of A/A/O process. The results showed that active carbon fiber film immobilization product had a better performance than other products. The effluent concentrations of nitric nitrogen and nitritenitrogen from anoxic tank were 1.96 mg/L and 0.49 mg/L, respectively, and the COD removal efficiency was 60.92%. The removal efficiencies of COD and ammonia in aerobic tank were 78.83% and 85.52%,and phenol and cyanide removal efficiencies were both more than 97%.
