  • Adsorption experiments for adsorption behaviour of propoxur on abandoned orange peel were carried out to investigate the effcet of pH, concentration of ion, amounts of sorbent, adsorption time and concentration of propoxur on the adsorption. Results showed that the removal effect of propoxur by modified orange peel was lower than that of orange peel. The results indicated that it was favorable for the adsorption of propoxur under acidic conditions(pH 2~4).The adsorption process almost attained equilibrium in 40 min at 25℃.The optimal amounts of sorbent was 0.2 g when the concentration of propoxur was 61.46 mg/L in water. And results also showed that low concentration of ion was better for the adsorption. Finally, the adsorption isotherms can be described by Langmuir isotherms.
