Abstract: Ozonation, biological filtration, zeolite adsorption and combined processes were employed individually to remove organic matters, the competition and synergy effects were analyzed. CODMn in the raw water was 6.30~7.20 mg/L. The average CODMn removal rate was 10.8%, when the O3 dosage was 2.1 mg/L and the contact time was 15 min, while the average removal rate was 11.5% by zeolite and 32.3% by biological zeolite separately. By ozone-zeolite, the average removal rate was 15.6%, which was less than the removal rate of the combination of separate unit, every separate unit was competitive in the removal of CODMn. The average removal rate by ozone-biological zeolite was 45.5%, which was more than that of the combination of separate unit. Thus, every separate unit was synergistic in the removal of CODMn. It is appropriate to use ozone-biological zeolite to treat organic micro-polluted water.
