Abstract: The effects of curvature, pitch and flow rate on head loss, G and GT values were investigated for a helical secondary-flow mixer used in coagulation. The experimental results showed that the head loss, G and GT values of the mixer increased with increasing curvature and flow rate, but decreased with increasing pitch. At the same time, excepted that the interaction of pitch and flow rate did not affect the GT value, the curvature, flow rate and pitch of the mixer and the interactions between any two factors or among three factors had highly significant effects on G and GT values, and the significance of the effects was flow rate>curvature>pitch.
