Abstract: Anaerobic baffle reactor(ABR)was used for slaughterhouse wastewater treatment. Low influent load was used to culture sludge. The result showed that the starting process was quick, and granulated active sludge could be obtained;at common temperature, when hydraulic retention time was 20 h,organic loading was 2.5 kg COD/m3·d,the COD removal efficiency was 94%,which was the best COD removal efficiency;when the concentration of influent increased from 1 500 mg/L to 3 200 mg/L,COD removal efficiencies from 91% dropped to 86%,only drop 5%,this showed that ABR is very stable to shock load.
